Mission Statement
The Chagrin Valley Times and The Solon Times, and The Geauga Times Courier
are the community newspapers of choice in the Chagrin Valley, Solon and
Geauga County areas. People look to our newspapers as, arguably, the last
independent voices in Northern Ohio for all their news regarding,
government, schools, clubs, churches and people in their home communities.
This is news they can get nowhere else as the daily paper reduces staff and
covers less. We are the media covering the communities in which they have
grown up, have made their homes, have entrusted the schools to educating
their children, and in which they have made the largest investment of time
and money in their lives. As it has been said, all politics is local, and
we are the local papers of choice. Simply, they cannot get anywhere else,
what we are providing.
Our readership is so intense that our five local school systems admit that
parents get more news from our papers that they do from the schools
themselves. One as local, committed realtor/advertiser said: "Your
newspapers are the bible. They are eagerly awaited, read avidly and saved
for a week." And we have won the Ohio Newspaper Association award for
General Excellence, fifteen out of the last nineteen years.
