LAWRENCE P. LOVELL
Lawrence P. Lovell, age 88 of Auburn Twp, passed away June 3, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Beth. Mr. Lovell was a WWII Army Air Corp. soldier who served in the European Theater. Larry was a interior designer but was known by many as an Astronomer. Larry was a mentor to many members of the Chagrin Valley Astronomical Society. He was a passionate astronomer who was a pioneer in photo electric photometry linear surveillance of variable stars for NASA in the early 1960's in his "Hickox" Observatory in Auburn Twp.
A Graveside Service was held at Mapleshade Cemetery in Auburn Twp. on June 11th. Arrangements were handled by Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home.
