LURA R. CHAD
Lura R. Chad of South Russell, 77, passed away on June 16, 2010.
Lura was born in Burton, Ohio, on October 17, 1932; daughter of Ruth and Elmer Smith; sister of Keith, Donald, and Harry. The Smith family moved to Chagrin Falls, Ohio, when Lura was three years old and resided on Bellview Street. Lura graduated from Chagrin Falls High School in 1952. While attending high school, she was a member of the Girl's Athletic Association, Y-Teens, Biology Club, Junior and Senior Plays, in addition to being a Zenith Typist and a Majorette. After graduation, Lura worked for Sherwin Williams.
Lura (Sally) married her high school sweetheart, late Robert (Bob) Chad, a graduate of Aurora High School, on June 20, 1953. They resided on Bellview Street in Chagrin Falls until 1963 when they then moved to their home on Bell Road in South Russell. Bob and Sally had four children; Ken, Cherie, Kathy, and Diane; and were proud grandparents of eleven children and seven great-grandchildren. Lura was a homemaker until 1976 when she then took a position as an electronic assembler at Channel Products. She worked at Channel Products until she retired in 1996. After retirement, Bob and Sal enjoyed many winters in their Winnebago down in Okeechobee, Florida.
Funeral services were held June 21 at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home in Chagrin Falls, Ohio followed by entombment at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland, Ohio.
