ROBERT J. LAX
Robert J. Lax, 83, passed away peacefully June 26 at home in Aurora, Ohio, in the presence of his loving wife of 59 years, Ann Ailes Lax. Bob, formerly of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Chatham, Massachusetts, served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Naval Intelligence from 1944 to 1958. He graduated from Iowa State College in 1948 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. An entrepreneur, he was the owner of several businesses, lastly being Champion Manufacturing Industries in Peoria, Illinois.
He is survived by his loving family, sons; Robert A. (Lynn), Michael D. (Joan), Jonathon L. (Vikki), Mark E. (Jesselynn); 9 grandchildren; and one great grandchild; brother, Milton J. (Mel) Lax; and the late Lillian Winter and Harold Lax.
His loving manner, generosity, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Christopher's Church, 625 Main Street, Chatham, Massachusetts 02633, and the Federated Church, 76 Bell Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44022.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 South Franklin Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Memorial services will be held at Federated Church, 76 Bell Street, Chagrin alls, Ohio, Friday, July 2 at 1:00 p.m.
