DONALD HERBERT "BUCK" LEWIS
Donald Herbert "Buck" Lewis, age 83 passed away Friday, August 20. Buck was born in Poland, Ohio, and grew up in Youngstown. After graduating from Rayen High School ('44), Buck served two years in the U.S. Navy. He attended Case Institute of Technology ('49) where he was a member of the SAE fraternity and earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. In 1950 he married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Griffin, (deceased). They had two sons; Richard, now of Columbus, Ohio, and Chris, of Denver, Colorado. Buck worked for Packard Electric, was President of Lester Engineering and later formed his own company D & J Machinery. Buck moved to Cleveland in the early 80's after living in Warren, Ohio, and Milwaukee. In 2002 Buck married Pam Hansen after moving from Pepper Pike to Beachwood. Most recently Buck was a sales representative for Toolbold Corp. and thoroughly enjoyed staying busy with work. Buck was an avid sportsman throughout his life, enjoying hunting, fishing and his beloved golf. A longtime member of Canterbury Country Club, Buck enjoyed playing at the Club and his regular weekly game with friends. He also loved attending the sporting events of his grandchildren.
Buck is survived by wife, Pam; sons —Richard (Tarvez Tucker) and Chris (Betsy); grandchildren — Nicholas, Arthur, Richard, Alex, Daisy and Rosie; stepdaughter — Paige Hansen-Shankar (Joe); stepson — Toby Hansen (Beth); and step-grandchildren — Eric, Emily, Luke, Leela and Kethaki.
Memorial service was Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 6295 Chagrin River Rd. Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44022. Services handled by the STROUD LAWRENCE FUNERAL HOME, 95 S. FRANKLIN ST. CHAGRIN FALLS.
