Dr. John C. Buechel
Dr. John C. Buechel passed away May 23, 2011. Loving father of twin daughters, Holly Buechel, Karia (Martin) both of Durango, Colorado; sisters, Margie McGrail of Arkansas, Mary Ellen of Arizona; also a long-time companion, Carol Baechel.
Dr. Buechel graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and earned his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. He was on staff at South Point Hospital in Warrensville Heights. He served as president of the hospital's family practice group as head of the intern committee and president of the hospital staff.
Dr. Buechel also served as president of the Cleveland Academy of Osteopathic Medicine. For many years, he was a member of the associate teaching staff for Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Buechel retired in 2004 after a 44 year career.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with funeral service following at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 South Franklin Street, Chagrin Falls.
