JOYCE D. MURPHY
Joyce D. Murphy, age 76, passed away June 11, 2011. Beloved wife of Oliver A.; mother of Nancy S. Dickinson, Ralph T. Dickinson, Catherine A. O'Rourke (Patrick), Thomas W. Murphy (Alissa) and Susan A. Stratton (deceased). Grandmother of 12, great-grandmother of 1.
Joyce was a gifted artist with a creative imagination that rendered her paintings both realistic and whimsical. She loved classical music and played the harp. She loved to read and was especially fascinated by novels involving the details of significant historical periods. Joyce was educated at the Andrews school and remained an involved alumna. She had a host of friends and always sought to provide help and care to others. In short, Joyce was a grand lady.
The family will receive friends at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 S. Franklin St., Chagrin Falls on Thursday, June 16th between 4-7 P.M. Prayer service at Stroud-Lawrence Friday, June 17th at 10:00 A.M. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. Suggested contributions can be made in memory of Joyce D.
