MARIE I. BARR
Marie I. Barr, 85, resident of South Russell for 47 years, passed away June 23rd after a brief illness. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Orrie, after 58 years of marriage, in 2003. Daughter of Irene (Bonanno) and Guy Infante, shewas born in Lima, Ohio, and graduated from St. Rose of Lima High School in 1943. While attending St. Mary's of the Woods College, she married her fiance, Orrie, when he returned from being a POW during WW II on June 2, 1945. An active member of St. Joan of Arc RC Church, Marie was involved in the Church Choir, the Shawl Ministry, Among Friends, the Women's Guild and was a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound. A former Realtor, Marie was active as an officer of the Chagrin Valley Women's Club, a member of Know Your Antiques, Current Events, the Bridge Club, Chagrin Valley Garden Club and the infamous "Breakfast Club".
She leaves behind children, Suzanne (Edward) of North Wales, PA; James Stanley of Indianapolis, IN; Laurence (Kristen), of Amherst, N.H.; Jon Randall of Chagrin Falls, and Tonya (Robert) of Ann Arbor, MI; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; sisters Carolyn Razzano of Palo Alto, Rozlyn Schoonover, Colorado Springs, CO and brothers Guy of Springfield, OH and Peter of Falls Church, VA.
A memorial service was held at St. Joan's in Chagrin Falls on Saturday, June 25th. Internment is being held at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, Masses be said or memorial contributions be made in her name to St. Joan Of Arc Catholic Church, 496 E. Washington St., Chagrin Falls, OH, 44022. Memorial contributions may also be made to The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, P.O. Box 931517, Cleveland, OH 44193-1655. All contributions will support the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Cleveland Clinic.
