ROBERT ALLEN SMITH
Robert Allen Smith, age 70, of Newbury, died August 11, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Annette Smith (nee Lindquist) for 49 years; devoted father of Richard and Lisa, both of Newbury, and David (Lori) of Croton; loving grandfather of Zachary, Hannah, Benjamin, Gabrielle and Tyler; and cherished brother of Don (Susan), of Versailles, Kentucky, and Chuck (Marge), of Huntsburg.
Before retiring, Robert was a salesman at Middlefield Farm and Garden in Middlefield. A trained chef who attended the Culinary Institute of America, Robert was the chef and operating partner at Mister Smiths' Restaurant in Chagrin Falls for nearly 20 years. A member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Robert loved sports, fishing, hunting, golf, classic films, and spending time with his grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Morning Star Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Rd., Chardon, OH. 44024. Memorial Contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Hospice of Care Corporation, 831 South St., Chardon, OH. 44024 or the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division Inc., North Region, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
