ZELLA SURRé DAVIDSON
Zella Surré Davidson, age 83, passed away on August 23, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Paul F. Davidson Jr., dear sister of Caroline Dunning, and sister-in-law of Barbara Chambers. Loving mother of Paul (Tina), Jeff (Wendy), and Matt (Christine). Cherished grandmother of Christina (Scott), Leslie (Brandon), Matthew, Andrew, Matt, Devon and Will. Loving companion of Charles (Skip) McLaughlin.
Zella was a beloved friend and member of the Chagrin Falls community where she was an active member, Stephen’s minister and Usher at Federated Church. She was also a member of the Chagrin Boosters Club and worked at the Sassy Cat, the Chagrin Chapter of the National Women’s Exchange program. Zella was also part of the Chagrin Garden Club, maintaining the gardens at Bell St. and Chillicothe Road, a member of the Downtown Chagrin committee, and holiday decorating committee.
Zella prepared and organized the Chagrin phone book in her work at the Chagrin Falls Chamber of Commerce for 27 years. She was also past President (1999-2000) and Director of the Chagrin Valley Women’s Club (2009-2011); regularly welcomed visitors to Chagrin Falls at Township Hall; and was active in the Republican Party and local politics.
Zella was an accomplished artist and art enthusiast, a 40-year attendee of Bobbie Wheeler’s art class in Chagrin Falls. All knew Zella as a wonderful, warm-hearted hostess and a true and loving friend.
Memorial service to be held 4PM, Friday, September 2nd at Federated Church, 76 Bell Street, Chagrin Falls, OH. All welcome to attend reception immediately following in Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of The Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110 or The Arthritis Foundation, www.arthritis.org.
