GANS MELVIN SENGER

MELVIN SENGER GANS

Melvin Senger Gans, passed away rather suddenly and just before he could enjoy a bite of his favorite meatloaf and just after much laughter over a TV comedy rerun of "Everybody Loves Raymond" on September 28, 2011, only a few weeks shy of his 91st birthday. With three generations of single-children families, the only surviving immediate relatives are his wife and best friend for 70 years, Susanne Tobias Gans; a devoted daughter, Janet Gans Brown (Robert), who had provided omnipresent support throughout; and a loving granddaughter, Kirsten Alisa Brownrigg (Chengdu, China).

He was born, raised, and worked in Cleveland his entire life, having a long technician's career with Friden office machines and its successors. A beloved boating hobby was anchored at a summer cottage in Madison, Ohio, and his religious moorings were at neighboring Presbyterian churches. Melvin Gans enjoyed life as much as anyone, just like that last TV comedy, and at all gatherings you could find him and Susanne by following the sounds of laughter to the center of everyone's attention.

Following Melvin’s wish for immediate cremation, a memorial service will be made at a later date along with a vigorous attempt to notify his many friends and associates.
