Comets explode against Brunswick

Solon (8-1, 3-1) fell behind 3-0 early against Brunswick (6-3, 1-3) at Stewart Field last Friday, but went on to score eight unanswered touchdowns for the 56-3 Northeast Ohio Conference triumph.
Seven Comets were in on the touchdown party as Drew Barksdale was the only player to score more than once. He had a 5-yard run in the first quarter, for the 7-3 lead, and a 24-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Also in the second quarter, Cory Stuart had a 10-yard touchdown catch from Patrick Kramer and C.J. Hanna had a 26-yard interception for a touchdown, which put the Comets up 28-3 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Tres Barksdale had a 32-yard touchdown catch from Kramer, Khoury Crenshaw had a 2-yard touchdown run and Jesse Circelli had a 7-yard touchdown run.
Brandon Bryd finished the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 66-yard run.
Kramer finished the game 10 for 15 passing with 169 yards.
Stuart had four catches for 49 yards and Tres Barksdale had four catches for 38 yards.
On defense, Nick Davidson led the tackling effort with 10, which he averages. He also had one of Solon’s four interceptions. Cory Stuart and George Berry had the other two.
In total yardage, Solon outgained Brunswick 418-265.
