Erma Lee Cooke of Bainbridge, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away at home on November 8, after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband, James, of 52 years; son, Jim, of Warrenton, VA; daughters, Lee Ann Jones of Novelty, OH, and Cynthia Cooke of Loch Lomond, Scotland. She was a wonderful grandmother to Shane, James, Casey, Jagger, Dylan, and Reece. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Cooke was born in Sarcoxie City, MO, and moved to Iowa in her early childhood. She returned to Missouri in her teens and graduated high school in Carthage, MO. After graduation she worked as a secretary for the American Feed Association in Chicago, IL. She was married in 1958 and moved to Ohio. Shortly thereafter she and her husband opened a British Leyland dealership in Cleveland. They later added a Fiat dealership and moved the business to Bainbridge. After selling the dealership in 1978, Mrs. Cooke and her husband developed and operated several other businesses including the Cameronian restaurant and most recently EZ Mini Storage in Bainbridge.
Services were held this past Saturday. They were arranged by Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home of Chesterland.
