1929-2011
Wesley Brewer died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on November 7th, the 58th wedding anniversary to his much beloved wife “Birdie.” Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he lived the entrepreneurial spirit, taking the road less traveled and all the while relished the journey. He developed Coach House Square in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Owned and operated High Tide Cottages on Sanibel Island, Florida. Then became a part of the agricultural community on Pine Island, Florida. Wes was very proud of his service in Korea with the Army in 1951. He loved sailing and traveling and will be remembered as an outgoing, energetic, creative man with a great sense of humor.
Wes is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Betsy (Paul) Seegott; sons, Wesley Jr. (Maureen) Brewer and Russell (Lara) Brewer; brother, Lee (Liz) Brewer; and grandchildren, Paul and Eric, Molly and Matthew, and Will, Tom and Russell Jr.. Wes was predeceased by his son, Scott.
A private memorial service was held in Fort Myers, Florida. If so desired, a donation may be made to Hope Hospice/ Joanne’s House, 27200 Imperial Parkway, Bonita Springs, Florida 34135 in Wes’s memory.
