Suspect remains at large after Solon rape reported

By SUE REID

A Solon man facing felony rape and domestic violence charges in connection with a Dec. 12 incident remained at early this week.

Solon police said the case has been turned over to the U.S. Marshal's Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Bobby Jackson, 48, of Solon, faces charges of felony-two rape and felony-three domestic violence following an attack reported Monday morning by his estranged wife.

Police were called to St. Vincent's Solon Medical Campus in response to a domestic violence report involving an incident at a home on SOM Center Road (Route 91) home.

According to the report, the victim drove herself to the emergency room after the attack in which she suffered head injuries.

Police said the victim and Mr. Jackson are in proceedings, and a temporary protective order is in place.

After returning home from taking her children to school Monday, the victim was attacked and punched with a closed fist, police said. She was slammed onto a bed, choked and punched, they said. She was forced to take her clothes off and raped, according to the report.

The suspect is described as African-American, 6 feet tall and 196 pounds, with brown eyes. Police said Mr. Jackson has two previous domestic violence convictions, which make the current charge a felony.

Police said anyone seeing the suspect should not approach him. Anyone with information is asked to call the Solon Police Department at 440-248-1234.
