ROWE, GORDON DANIEL
GORDON DANIEL ROWE
Gordon Daniel Rowe, 92, of Carmel, Indiana, formerly of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, died November 19, 2008. Born in Chicago on October 28, 1916, Gordon was the son of the late Edmund and Violet (Edmunds) Rowe. He served as a B-17 navigator instructor in the U. S. Air Corps and spent his entire business career in the employ of General Electric, working as a lighting engineer until retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and Church of the Saviour in Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Frances Reed, his wife Vivian Rowe, and his daughter Caroline Reed Rowe Sutliff, as well as brothers John Thomas Rowe and Harold Frederick Rowe. Gordon is survived by his sons, Gordon Daniel Rowe (Joellen), David Edward Rowe, and Thomas Reed Rowe (Kathy). He is also survived by grandchildren, Tiffany Porter Stoner (Timothy), Gordon Daniel Rowe III, Nathaniel Edmunds Rowe (Helena), Elizabeth Sutliff Roeder (Andrew), Winden Statham Rowe, Suzanne Ames Sutliff, Morgan Ash Goor (Christian), Mina Caroline Rowe, Audrey Genevieve Rowe, and Hattie Ullman Rowe, as well as 8 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on December 13th at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Saviour. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pastoral Visitation Fund of the Church of the Saviour, 2537 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118, in memory of Gordon's beloved daughter Caroline Sutliff.
