SMALL KELLY LOUISE
KELLY LOUISE SMALL
Kelly Louise Small, 31, of Chagrin Falls, died February 10, 2012. Born January 20, 1981, in Southport, England. Although Kelly was born in England, she was most definitely 100% Scottish. Her family moved across to Chagrin Falls in November of 1988. She graduated from Chagrin Falls High School in 1999 and attended Toledo University. Following college, Kelly began her bartending career at the VFW in Aurora, Ohio. Kelly moved to the fishing village of Crail, just south of St. Andrews to reconnect with her cousins, aunts and uncles in Scotland. She stayed in Scotland for 6 months but Chagrin Falls beckoned her back and she went to work at the Valley Tavern. In 2005, the travel bug bit once again and Kelly went to help care for her grandparents in Lennox Head, New South Wales, Australia. When she returned from Australia in 2006, she began working at Rick’s Café in Chagrin Falls where she was employed for the past 6 years. A truly devoted employee, Kelly was a popular bartender, server and thoughtful friend to many. An avid Cleveland Indians fan, she was befriended by a couple of the players, ensuring her ability to get “sweet” seats at home games. Her effervescent, enthusiastic presence will be sadly missed in the community.
Kelly is survived by her parents, Linda C. Small of Shaker Heights and Neil and joAnne (deHamel) Small of South Russell; brothers, Andrew of Shaker and Cameron of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; and sister, Corinne of Mantua, Ohio. Memorial services were held February 16, at the Federated Church in Chagrin Falls. Donations in Kelly’s memory may be sent to Hattie Larlham Foundation, 9772 Diagonal Road, Mantua, Ohio 44255 or Cleveland Indians Charities at http://cleveland.indians.mlb.com/cle/community/cic.jsp. GO TRIBE!
