DONALD C. RUNGE
Donald C. Runge, age 82 of Chagrin Falls, passed away November 23rd, 2008, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the beloved husband of Betty (nee Griffiths); loving father of David Runge (Kathy) and Karen Runge (nee Detraz), devoted grandfather to Daniel Runge, Arielle and Arlen Detraz, and loving stepfather of Jeff Griffiths, David Griffiths, and Sue Griffiths. He is survived by all of the preceding family.
Donald was born in Denver, Colorado on February 11th, 1926, graduated from the University of Cincinnati. He served in the U.S. Navy in 1945 and 1946 as a radar technician and worked as an engineer for GE. Most of his career was as a sales engineer for Cincinnati Milicron where he won the Salesman of the Year award in 1972 and developed a reputation for product application knowledge, dedication to his customers, and integrity. He finished his career as a successful independent sales rep. specializing in injection molding machines and products. Don was known by many as a good friend and a humorous and generous person. He enjoyed travel, photography, investing and attending United Methodist Church of Chagrin Falls with Betty, his wife of thirty years.
A memorial service will be held at the church in early January with time and date to be announced.
