LEROY KLEIN, Ph.D., M.D.


LeRoy Klein passed away at his home in Chagrin Falls, OH, Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the age of 85. He suffered with Alzheimer's disease. Dr. Klein was born in Newark, New Jersey and obtained degrees from Syracuse University, Boston University and CWRU School of Medicine. He was a full professor in the departments of Orthopedics, Biochemistry, and Macromolecular Science at CWRU/UH Case Medical Center. He received the award Kappa Delta for research related to orthopedic surgery and had 181 research articles published. He was a member in several honorary and professional societies. He was also a veteran of WW II.

He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth; three children from his first marriage to Else, Norman, Nina and George; stepson, Alexander; and a sister, Florence Rovetti. He will be greatly missed.

Anatomical donation to MedCure has been arranged for medical research. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
