LOUIS ALBERT GOLDBACH
Louis Goldbach, 94, died peacefully at Burton Health Care on September 21. Born in Cleveland in 1914, he grew up in Geauga County and was graduated from Newbury High School. He and his wife, Ruth (deceased), built a home in Russell Township in 1947 and lived there with their children, Garry (deceased), and Geni (Lynn) Land. He was a Professional Engineer (Fenn College) who, with his wife, operated L. A. Goldbach & Associates for many years in Chagrin Falls.
Louis was an active senior after retirement, continuing to fly an airplane, ballroom and square dance as well as regularly donating blood to the Red Cross into his late eighties. He was a member of the Hubs Square Dancing Club and SingleLife of Federated. Louis was a long-standing member of The United Methodist Church in Chagrin Falls and ushered there until he turned ninety years old. He is remembered by friends and neighbors for his sense of humor, upbeat attitude, and helpful nature.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at The United Methodist Church, 20 South Franklin Street. Donations to his church are appreciated.
