THEODORE T. BRUSH
Theodore T. Brush (Ted), 90, died peacefully at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH, on Friday, April 12, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Patricia (Pat); his sister, Caryl; and his parents, Edna and Edmund Brush. Ted is survived by his five children, Kathy (Peter) Tolan, Susan (Bill) Harr, Todd (Diane) Brush, Tim (Sharyl) Brush, and Peter Brush, eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Born in New York, NY, on May 2, 1922, Ted was the only son of Edna and Edmund Brush. He was a graduate of Great Neck High School in Great Neck, NY, and Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. Ted enlisted in the USMC in March 1942 and served as an officer in the Pacific Theater. He served as a sales agent for several carpet and floor covering manufacturers throughout his career. Even into his eighties, he continued to represent small European rug distributors.
Ted loved all sports, especially baseball, hockey, and football. He enthusiastically followed design trends in automobiles. He kept abreast of current events reading multiple daily newspapers. He and Pat were active members of the Lake Lucerne community for 45 years where they raised their family. Ted was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Chagrin Falls, OH, and assisted the staff with weekly nursing home visitations.
